Chanel names global arts and culture lead
Chanel has named Yana Peel, former chief executive of Serpentine Galleries, global head of arts and culture. In this newly created role, Peel reports to Chanel Chief Executive Alain Wertheimer.
Givenchy taps CEO from Dior
Givenchy has appointed Renaud de Lesquen chief executive, effective April 1. De Lesquen joins the company from Dior Americas, where he was chief executive and president. He replaces Philippe Fortunato, who held the role for six years.
L’Oréal CEO to depart
L’Oréal Chief Executive Jean-Paul Agon has announced plans to step away from his role by summer 2021. Agon first became chief executive in 2006.
Coach CEO exits
Joshua Schulman is stepping down as chief executive of Coach following a transition period. Jide Zeitlin, chief executive and chairman of parent company Tapestry, will oversee the brand while the search for a successor is underway.
Gap Inc. appoints CEO, executive chairman
Gap Inc. hired a new chief executive from within the company, following the surprise departure of Art Peck in November 2019. Sonia Syngal, formerly head of Gap-owned Old Navy, will assume the role on March 23, replacing interim chief executive Robert Fisher.
The company also appointed Elizabeth Smith, former chief executive of Bloomin’ Brands, and Amy Miles, former chief executive of Regal Entertainment group, to its board of directors effective April 1. Existing board member Bobby Martin will become executive chairman effective March 23.
Marcolin CEO departs
Massimo Renon is stepping down as chief executive of eyewear company Marcolin, effective April 14, 2020. The company has not yet announced a successor.
Harrods appoints partnerships director from Condé Nast
Alex Unitt has been named partnerships director of Harrods, replacing Guy Cheston April 8. He joins the department store from Condé Nast, where he was most recently associate commercial director.
